Hi, I’m Mel — the creator of Soy on the Hill.

What started over 11 years ago on our family property in Yarrambat, surrounded by the stunning Yarra Ranges, has grown into something I could only dream of. In 2018, life took a few twists and turns, leading my family to a fresh new chapter in the leafy streets of Eltham, Victoria. We feel so fortunate to now call this wonderful community home — and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

As a mum of three teenage boys, life is busy (and never boring!). Taking my home-based business to the next stage with a dedicated studio space away from home felt daunting at first, but it’s been the most rewarding step. The juggle of motherhood and building a brand has become a fine art — and you’d be surprised at just how much we can achieve in a week!

I’m lucky enough to have incredible clients who have supported me since the very beginning of my candle-making journey. Creating is something I’ve loved since I was a little girl, so to now call this my job truly feels like living my dream. Each piece is designed, hand-poured, and finished by me, which is something I’m deeply proud of.

Walking into the space I’ve created fills me with joy every day, and I love being able to share it with you all.
